Abstract

The patient of this case was 14 year 2 month old boy who had Angle's Class II division 1 subdivision malocclusion with impacted mandibular 1st & 2nd molars. The impacted mandibular 1st molar had dilacerated roots.
After surgical exposure of impacted teeth of this patient and bonding of attachment on exposed crown, those teeth were orthodontically pulled with fixed appliances.
@ES The results were obtained as follow:
@EN 1. The impacted molar with dilacerated roots could be corrected by orthodontics.
2. The functionally proper occlusion was established by guidance of the impacted teeth into the normal position in the arch.
3. Establishment of esthetic and balanced arch form was achieved.
4. After the orthodontic correction, the vitality of the teeth was maintained.
5. The formation of alveolar bone was good in orthodontically pulled teeth and the mobility of those teeth was within normal range.
6. The possibility of restorative prosthetic treatment induced by extraction of impacted teeth was eliminated.
